〜と思います

Pattern

Used to say 'I think...' or to guess something.

Attach と思います to the plain form of verbs, adjectives, or nouns. Use it for opinions or guesses. For negative guesses, use 〜ないと思います.

Plain form + と + 思います

あした雪がふると思います。

あしたゆきがふるとおもいます。

I think it will snow tomorrow.

このケーキはおいしいと思います。

このけーきはおいしいとおもいます。

I think this cake is delicious.

その映画はつまらないと思います。

そのえいがはつまらないとおもいます。

I think that movie is boring.

山田さんは親切だと思います。

やまださんはしんせつだとおもいます。

I think Mr. Yamada is kind.

これは大事なことだと思います。

これはだいじなことだとおもいます。

I think this is important.

小野さんはこのニュースを知らないと思います。

おのさんはこのにゅーすをしらないとおもいます。

I don't think Mr. Ono knows this news.
