Pattern

The particle と connects two nouns of equal status, similar to 'and' in English.

Used to list items, people, or places. Can connect more than two nouns by repeating と.

Noun1 + と + Noun2

銀行の休みは土曜日と日曜日です。

ぎんこうのやすみはどようびとにちようびです。

The bank is closed on Saturdays and Sundays.

私はパンとスープを食べます。

わたしはぱんとすーぷをたべます。

I eat bread and soup.

田中さんと山田さんが来ます。

たなかさんとやまださんがきます。

Mr. Tanaka and Mr. Yamada will come.
