- N1 + から + N2 + まで
Explanation
から marks the starting point in time or place, まで marks the ending point. They can be used together or separately. Adding です after them is also possible.
Usage
Use with times, dates, or places to indicate a range. Either から or まで can stand alone when only the start or end is mentioned.
Formation
Start point + から + End point + まで
Examples
９時から５時まで 働きます。
くじからごじまで はたらきます。I work from nine to five.
大阪から東京まで３時間かかります。
おおさかからとうきょうまで さんじかんかかります。It takes three hours from Osaka to Tokyo.
９時から 働きます。
くじから はたらきます。I start working at nine.
銀行は９時から３時までです。
ぎんこうは くじから さんじまでです。The bank is open from nine to three.
昼休みは１２時からです。
ひるやすみは じゅうにじからです。Lunchtime starts at twelve.
