Indicates the latest time by which an action must be completed.

Use までに after a specific time or date to show a deadline for an action.

N(time) + までに + verb

会議は5時までに終わります。

かいぎはごじまでにおわります。

The meeting will be over by five o’clock.

土曜日までに本を返さなければなりません。

どようびまでにほんをかえさなければなりません。

I must return the book by Saturday.

明日までに宿題を終えます。

あしたまでにしゅくだいをおえます。

I will finish my homework by tomorrow.

昼までにメールを送ってください。

ひるまでにメールをおくってください。

Please send the email by noon.
