Explanation
The particle と clearly marks the person or animal you do something with.
Usage
Use と to indicate doing an action together with someone or an animal. For doing something alone, use ひとりで instead, without と.

Person/animal noun + と + verb
Examples
友だちと映画を見ます。
ともだちと えいがを みます。I watch a movie with my friend.
家族と日本へ来ました。
かぞくと にほんへ きました。I came to Japan with my family.
一人で東京へ行きます。
ひとりで とうきょうへ いきます。I will go to Tokyo alone.
