Pattern

The interrogative いつ is used to ask when something will happen or happened. It does not take the particle に.

Place いつ at the start or relevant position in the sentence to ask about the timing of an event. Respond with a specific time, date, or period.

いつ + action verb

いつ日本へ来ましたか。

いつにほんへきましたか。

When did you come to Japan?

３月２５日に来ました。

さんがつにじゅうごにちにきました。

I came on March 25th.

いつ広島へ行きますか。

いつひろしまへいきますか。

When will you go to Hiroshima?

来週行きます。

らいしゅういきます。

I’ll go there next week.
