A passive sentence where an object or event is the topic. This form is used to state objective facts without expressing the speaker's emotions.

Used for describing events, works, or phenomena in a neutral, factual way.

Noun + が + Verb (passive form)

この映画は去年、日本で公開されました。

このえいがはきょねん、にほんでこうかいされました。

This movie was released in Japan last year.

この手紙は100年前に書かれたものです。

このてがみはひゃくねんまえにかかれたものです。

This letter was written 100 years ago.

この歌は世界中で歌われています。

このうたはせかいじゅうでうたわれています。

This song is sung all over the world.
