Pattern
- 普通形（ナ形・名は + な）+ ので
Explanation
Indicates cause or reason in a softer and more polite tone than 〜から. Often used in formal or considerate speech, and not typically followed by commands or requests.
Usage
Used to politely explain reasons, especially in situations requiring consideration for the listener.
Formation
Attach ので after the plain form of verbs and adjectives, or after nouns and na-adjectives with な.
Examples
電車が遅れたので、会議に間に合いませんでした。
でんしゃがおくれたので、かいぎにまにあいませんでした。Because the train was delayed, I couldn’t make it to the meeting on time.
体調が悪いので、今日は仕事を休みます。
たいちょうがわるいので、きょうはしごとをやすみます。Since I’m not feeling well, I will take the day off.
まだ子供なので、一人で旅行はできません。
まだこどもなので、ひとりでりょこうはできません。Since I’m still a child, I can’t travel alone.
