動ます形 + ながら

Explanation

Used when a main action or behavior is accompanied by a separate, simultaneous ancillary action or behavior. Indicates doing two actions at the same time.

Usage

Attach ながら to the masu-stem of a verb to indicate simultaneous actions, with one action being the main focus.

Verb masu-stem + ながら

Examples

きれいな海を見ながらさんぽしました。

きれいうみをみながらさんぽしました。

I took a walk while looking at the beautiful sea.

母は音楽を聞きながら料理を作ります。

はははおんがくをききながらりょうりをつくります。

My mother cooks while listening to music.
