Explanation
Expresses a specific time point in an action or change. 'Dictionary form + ところです' indicates just before an action starts, '〜ている + ところです' indicates during an action, and '〜た + ところです' indicates just after the action has finished.
Usage
Choose the verb form according to whether the action is about to start, is in progress, or has just been completed.
