Explanation
Used to list multiple reasons or points. Even if used only once, it can suggest there are other, unstated reasons. Also used to add extra information to support a statement.
Usage
Commonly appears when giving several reasons for an action or opinion, or when emphasizing multiple qualities of something.
Formation
Attach し to the plain form of a verb, adjective, or noun + です.
Examples
このレストランは料理がおいしいし、店の雰囲気もいいです。
このレストランはりょうりがおいしいし、みせのふんいきもいいです。This restaurant's food is delicious, and the atmosphere is nice too.
あの町は交通が便利だし、自然もきれいです。
あのまちはこうつうがべんりだし、しぜんもきれいです。That town has convenient transportation, and the nature is beautiful too.
今日は雨だし、少し疲れているし、家でゆっくりします。
きょうはあめだし、すこしつかれているし、いえでゆっくりします。It's raining today, and I'm a bit tired, so I'll relax at home.
