〜から／〜からです

Pattern

Indicates cause, reason, or grounds for an action or statement. Often used to clearly state why something is the case, sometimes emphatically.

Used to give reasons for actions, judgments, or situations. Can be used before both neutral and imperative expressions.

Attach から after the plain or polite form of a verb, adjective, or noun.

雨が降っているから、試合は中止になりました。

あめがふっているから、しあいはちゅうしになりました。

Because it’s raining, the match was canceled.

道が混んでいたから、遅くなってしまいました。

みちがこんでいたから、おそくなってしまいました。

I was late because the road was crowded.

疲れているから、今日は早く寝ます。

つかれているから、きょうははやくねます。

Because I’m tired, I’ll go to bed early today.
