〜がほしいです・〜たいです

Pattern

Expresses a desire for something (がほしいです) or a wish to do something (たいです).

Use がほしいです when you want to say you want a noun. Use たいです when you want to say you want to perform an action.

Attach がほしいです to nouns. Attach たいです to the stem of verbs (remove ます).

新しい自転車がほしいです。

あたらしいじてんしゃがほしいです。

I want a new bicycle.

今日は寿司を食べたいです。

きょうはすしをたべたいです。

I want to eat sushi today.

夏に海で泳ぎたいです。

なつにうみでおよぎたいです。

I want to swim in the sea in summer.
