Used to express something that is generally said, believed, or considered true by people in general.

Indicates common opinion, hearsay, or a widely accepted belief. Often used for facts or trends believed by society.

Attach to the plain form of verbs, i-adjectives, na-adjectives, and nouns.

この地域の温泉は美容にも良いと言われている。

このちいきのおんせんはびようにもよいといわれている。

It is said that the hot springs in this area are also good for beauty.

この山は昔から神聖な場所だと言われている。

このやまはむかしからしんせいなばしょだといわれている。

It is said that this mountain has been a sacred place since ancient times.

来年の大会では新しい記録が出るだろうと言われています。

らいねんのたいかいではあたらしいきろくがでるだろうといわれています。

It is said that a new record will be set at next year's tournament.
