Explanation
Indicates that if a certain condition is met, that alone is enough for the desired result to occur.
Usage
Used to emphasize the minimum requirement for something to be realized. Commonly paired with both nouns and verbs.
Formation
Attach さえ to nouns or the verb stem, followed by the conditional form such as ば, ければ, or なら.
Examples
水さえあれば、この花は元気に育つ。
みずさえあれば、このはなはげんきにそだつ。As long as it has water, this flower will grow well.
努力さえすれば、夢は叶うはずだ。
どりょくさえすれば、ゆめはかなうはずだ。If you just make an effort, your dreams should come true.
健康でさえあれば、他に何もいらない。
けんこうでさえあれば、ほかになにもいらない。As long as I have my health, I need nothing else.
