Pattern

Indicates that the outcome, situation, or state changes depending on certain factors, or according to something.

Used to express variety or change depending on conditions. によっては highlights a particular example or outcome among several possibilities.

Attach によって or によっては to a noun.

季節によって、この山の景色は全く違う。

きせつによって、このやまのけしきはまったくちがう。

The scenery of this mountain changes completely depending on the season.

経験によって、同じ仕事の進め方が大きく異なることがある。

けいけんによって、おなじしごとのすすめかたがおおきくことなることがある。

Depending on experience, the way the same job is carried out can vary greatly.

地域によっては、春でも雪が降ることがある。

ちいきによっては、はるでもゆきがふることがある。

In some regions, it can snow even in spring.

材料によっては、この料理がさらにおいしくなる。

ざいりょうによっては、このりょうりがさらにおいしくなる。
