Pattern

Used to list various examples of things, actions, or feelings, often implying a chaotic or unorganized state.

Used when the speaker finds it difficult to categorize or define the situation clearly.

Connect two or more items (nouns, verbs, adjectives) with やら.

面接の日は、緊張やら不安やらで前の晩は眠れなかった。

めんせつのひは、きんちょうやらふあんやらでまえのばんはねむれなかった。

On the day of the interview, I was so nervous and anxious that I couldn’t sleep the night before.

旅行中は、迷うやら疲れるやらで、楽しむ余裕がなかった。

りょこうちゅうは、まようやらつかれるやらで、たのしむよゆうがなかった。

During the trip, I was so lost and exhausted that I couldn’t even enjoy it.
