〜としても・〜にしても

Pattern

Used to express that even if something is true, the speaker’s feelings or judgment are not affected.

Often used with hypothetical or extreme cases. Also appears with question words (e.g., たとえ, 何, どんなに).

Attach としても to verbs and adjectives in plain form. Attach にしても to nouns.

どんなに忙しいとしても、健康は大事にした方がいい。

どんなにいそがしいとしても、けんこうはだいじにしたほうがいい。

Even if you're very busy, it's important to take care of your health.

先生にしても、すべての学生の名前を覚えるのは難しいでしょう。

せんせいにしても、すべてのがくせいのなまえをおぼえるのはむずかしいでしょう。

Even for a teacher, remembering every student's name is probably difficult.
