Pattern

Indicates that even if something is the case, the speaker's judgment or action is not affected.

Often used for hypothetical or extreme cases. Can also appear with question words.

Attach to verbs, adjectives in plain form, or directly to nouns.

旅行にしろ出張にしろ、準備は早めにしておくべきです。

りょこうにしろしゅっちょうにしろ、じゅんびははやめにしておくべきです。

Whether it's travel or a business trip, you should prepare early.

勉強にせよ仕事にせよ、まずは計画を立てることが大切です。

べんきょうにせよしごとにせよ、まずはけいかくをたてることがたいせつです。
