Pattern

Indicates that something is done or decided based on certain data, policy, rules, or experience.

Often used with legal, academic, or technical terms such as 法律, データ, 調査結果. Indicates rational basis.

Attach to a noun representing a basis or standard. Use に基づく when modifying a following noun.

法律に基づいて正しく処理してください。

ほうりつにもとづいてただしくしょりしてください。

Please handle it properly in accordance with the law.

その調査に基づく報告書が発表された。

そのちょうさにもとづくほうこくしょがはっぴょうされた。

A report based on that survey was published.

データに基づいて新しい商品戦略が立てられた。

データにもとづいてあたらしいしょうひんせんりゃくがたてられた。

A new product strategy was developed based on the data.
