Explanation
A formal expression meaning 'regarding' or 'concerning'. Used to specify the subject of an explanation, investigation, or opinion.
Usage
Often used in formal writing and speeches. Common with verbs such as 調べる, 説明する, 話す. Different from 〜について, as it often refers to broader or more abstract topics.
Formation
Attach to nouns. When followed by another noun, use に関する + N.
Examples
その問題に関しては、来週の会議で話し合う予定です。
そのもんだいにかんしては、らいしゅうのかいぎではなしあうよていです。We plan to discuss that issue in next week’s meeting.
環境問題に関して多くの意見が寄せられた。
かんきょうもんだいにかんしておおくのいけんがよせられた。Many opinions were submitted regarding environmental issues.
