Pattern

Expresses that something is done or applies regardless of a certain factor such as weather, distance, or cost.

Often used with pairs of opposing words (e.g., go/not go, expensive/cheap). Also seen with interrogative expressions (e.g., だれが, いつ).

Attach to a noun. Often used in more formal contexts. Slight nuance difference: 'にかかわらず' is more common than 'にかかわりなく'.

天候にかかわらず、試合は予定通り行われます。

てんこうにかかわらず、しあいはよていどおりおこなわれます。

The match will take place as scheduled regardless of the weather.

性別にかかわらず、誰でも応募できます。

せいべつにかかわらず、だれでもおうぼできます。

Anyone can apply regardless of gender.

来る来ないにかかわらず、全員に資料を配ってください。

くるこないにかかわらず、ぜんいんにしりょうをくばってください。

Please hand out the documents to everyone, whether they attend or not.

金額にかかわりなく、全商品は返品できます。

きんがくにかかわりなく、ぜんしょうひんはへんぴんできます。

All products can be returned regardless of the price.
