Pattern

Indicates that the statement applies not only to the mentioned scope but also to a broader range.

Often followed by words expressing a wider scope such as 'everyone', 'various', 'always'. Frequently used to mean 'not limited to'.

Attach to nouns. The following sentence typically includes words like も, みんな, さまざま.

この図書館は休日に限らず、平日も多くの人が訪れる。

このとしょかんはきゅうじつにかぎらず、へいじつもおおくのひとがおとずれる。

This library is visited by many people not only on holidays but also on weekdays.

このイベントは若者に限らず、年配の人にも人気があります。

このイベントはわかものにかぎらず、ねんぱいのひとにもにんきがあります。

This event is popular not only among young people but also with older generations.

この問題はこの地域に限らず、全国で起きている。
