Used to state something definitively as the only possible answer or explanation. It means 'nothing but' or 'none other than'.

Often appears in formal writing or speeches. Used to express strong conclusions or definitions.

Attach to a noun.

この国の未来を担うのは、若い世代にほかならない。

このくにのみらいをになうのは、わかいせだいにほかならない。

The ones who will carry this country's future are none other than the younger generation.

努力の結果にほかならない。

どりょくのけっかにほかならない。

It is nothing but the result of hard work.
