Usage
Often used in rhetorical questions to express desire or frustration.
Formation
Attach to the negative form of a verb.
Examples
この問題、誰かが解決できないものだろうか。
このもんだい、だれかがかいけつできないものだろうか。Isn’t there someone who could solve this problem somehow?
もっと早く終われないものかな。
もっとはやくおわれないものかな。Can’t this be finished a bit earlier?
