〜くらい・〜ぐらい

Pattern

Indicates an approximate level or a minimal degree that is not difficult or important. Often used to suggest that something is easy or minor.

Frequently used in casual speech to downplay the importance or difficulty of something. 'ぐらい' is more common in conversation, especially after nouns.

Attach to nouns, verbs, and adjectives in plain form.

部屋を掃除するくらい、自分でやりなさい。

へやをそうじするくらい、じぶんでやりなさい。

At the very least, clean your own room yourself.

少し待つぐらいなら問題ありません。

すこしまつぐらいならもんだいありません。

I don’t mind waiting a little.

靴下くらいは自分で洗ってよ。

くつしたくらいはじぶんであらってよ。

At least wash your own socks.
