Explanation
Used when making a statement based only on the scope of information one has obtained (seen, heard, knows, etc.).
Usage
Common with verbs related to perception and knowledge (see, hear, remember, know, investigate). The following sentence conveys a judgment or conclusion.
Formation
Attach to verbs like 見る, 聞く, 覚えている, 知っている, or nouns like 調査.
Examples
私の知っている限りでは、この地域にそんな店はありません。
わたしのしっているかぎりでは、このちいきにそんなみせはありません。As far as I know, there's no such store in this area.
調査の限りでは、大きな問題は発見されていません。
ちょうさのかぎりでは、おおきなもんだいははっけんされていません。According to the investigation, no major issues have been found.
見た限りでは、両製品の機能はほとんど同じです。
みたかぎりでは、りょうせいひんのきのうはほとんどおなじです。As far as I could see, the functionality of both products is nearly the same.
