Pattern

Indicates doing something as much or as far as possible within a certain limit or extent.

Often used with potential or repetitive verbs. Can also be used with expressions like たい, 欲しい, 必要だ.

Attach to the dictionary form of a verb. Frequently used with repetition or potential forms.

必要な書類は、できるだけ用意してください。

ひつようなしょるいは、できるだけよういしてください。

Please prepare as many of the required documents as you can.

言いたいだけ言って、彼は部屋を出ていった。

いいたいだけいって、かれはへやをでていった。

He said everything he wanted to say and left the room.

今日は時間があるので、遊びたいだけ遊んでいいよ。

きょうはじかんがあるので、あそびたいだけあそんでいいよ。
