N + といい + N + といい

Explanation

Used to say that no matter which aspect you look at, things are in the same condition or deserve the same evaluation.

Usage

It lists examples from the same semantic group and is followed by a sentence describing a state or giving the speaker's evaluation. It is not used with the speaker's wishes, intentions, commands, or invitations.

Formation

Attach といい to nouns and list two or more related examples.

Examples

この作品は映像の美しさといい、音響の見事さといい、まさに第一級の出来だ。

このさくひんはえいぞうのうつくしさといい、おんきょうのみごとさといい、まさにだいいっきゅうのできだ。

This work is truly first-rate, whether you look at the beauty of its visuals or the excellence of its sound.

小野さんといい東山さんといい、うちの係の人はみんな話が愉快で引き込まれる。

おのさんといいひがしやまさんといい、うちのかかりのひとはみんなはなしがゆかいでひきこまれる。
