Explanation
Used to express that because the situation is a special one, the result is naturally special as well.
Usage
It attaches to words or clauses describing an unusual or notable situation rather than an ordinary one. The following clause states a result that naturally arises from that special condition. It is generally not used for the speaker's own situation.
Formation
Attach とあって to a noun or to the plain form.
Examples
久しぶりの気持ちのよい連休とあって、観光地はどこも大勢の人でにぎわっていた。
ひさしぶりのきもちのよいれんきゅうとあって、かんこうちはどこもおおぜいのひとでにぎわっていた。Because it was a pleasant long holiday for the first time in a while, tourist spots everywhere were crowded with many people.
その俳優は初めて舞台の主演を務めるとあって、かなり緊張しているようだ。
そのはいゆうははじめてぶたいのしゅえんをつとめるとあって、かなりきんちょうしているようだ。Because that actor is taking the leading role on stage for the first time, he seems quite nervous.
雑誌で店主の作品が取り上げられたとあって、この店に来る客はみな壁に飾られた絵に見入っていく。
ざっしでてんしゅのさくひんがとりあげられたとあって、このみせにくるきゃくはみなかべにかざられたえにみいっていく。Because the shop owner's work was featured in a magazine, all the customers who come to this shop end up gazing intently at the paintings displayed on the walls.
