Explanation
Used to express that a strong feeling continues without stopping.
Usage
It attaches to a limited set of verbs expressing enduring mental states, such as wishing, hoping, expecting, or loving. It is not used with temporary emotions. The subject is usually first person, though it is often omitted in the sentence.
Formation
Attach やまない to the て-form of a verb.
Examples
この写真に残っているのは、私が愛してやまない古里の山や川の景色だ。
このしゃしんにのこっているのは、わたしがあいしてやまないふるさとのやまやかわのけしきだ。What is captured in this photograph is the mountain and river scenery of my hometown, which I love dearly without end.
新たな門出に立つ皆さんの幸せを願ってやみません。
あらたなかどでにたつみなさんのしあわせをねがってやみません。I sincerely continue to wish happiness for all of you as you stand at the start of a new chapter.
親は子どもの成長と未来を期待してやまないものだ。
おやはこどものせいちょうとみらいをきたいしてやまないものだ。Parents cannot help but continue hoping for their children's growth and future.
