Explanation
Used to express that, judging from the situation, it is not difficult to imagine, infer, or understand something even without seeing it directly.
Usage
It attaches to a limited set of expressions involving mental activity, such as imagining, inferring, or understanding. It is used in formal written style.
Formation
Attach にかたくない to nouns or to the dictionary form of certain limited verbs such as 想像する, 察する, and 理解する.
Examples
完成した作品を見れば、彼女がこれまで重ねてきた苦労は想像にかたくない。
かんせいしたさくひんをみれば、かのじょがこれまでかさねてきたくろうはそうぞうにかたくない。If you look at the finished work, it is not hard to imagine the hardships she has gone through up to now.
伴侶を亡くした彼の悲痛な思いは察するにかたくない。
はんりょをなくしたかれのひつうなおもいはさっするにかたくない。It is not difficult to infer the depth of grief he feels after losing his spouse.
