Pattern

Explanation
Used to express that even if a situation turns out a certain way, it still has its own problems or its own consequences, and things do not become simply ideal.
Usage
The same word or idea is repeated. The following clause states either that there are still difficulties in that situation, or in some cases that one can simply manage with it. It often shows that reality is not as straightforward as one might hope.
Formation
Repeat the same word or expression, using forms such as 〜ば〜で, 〜なら〜で, or 〜たら〜たで depending on the grammar pattern.
Examples
部屋は広いほうがいいが、広ければ広いで、片づけや掃除がなかなか大変だろう。
へやはひろいほうがいいが、ひろければひろいで、かたづけやそうじがなかなかたいへんだろう。A room may be better if it is spacious, but if it is large, then cleaning and tidying it are difficult in their own way.
退職前は連日忙しくて大変だったが、休みになってみると、暇なら暇で考え込むことも増えるものだ。
たいしょくまえはれんじついそがしくてたいへんだったが、やすみになってみると、ひまならひまでかんがえこむこともふえるものだ。Before retiring, I was overwhelmed by being busy every day, but once I had free time, being idle brought its own increase in overthinking.
材料がなかったらなかったで、手近なもので簡単な料理を作ればいい。
ざいりょうがなかったらなかったで、てぢかなものでかんたんなりょうりをつくればいい。If there are no ingredients, then there are no ingredients; in that case, you can just make a simple dish with whatever is on hand.
転居の準備も大変だったが、引っ越したら引っ越したで、手続きや片づけがまだ山ほどある。
てんきょのじゅんびもたいへんだったが、ひっこしたらひっこしたで、てつづきやかたづけがまだやまほどある。Preparing to move was hard, but once you have moved, moving itself brings a mountain of paperwork and tidying to do.
