How to practice grammar for JLPT N3
Read the whole sentence before picking an option — grammar questions usually depend on context earlier or later in the sentence, not just the words right next to the blank. Try to explain to yourself why an option is correct, not just that it sounds right, and if you get it wrong, reread the full correct sentence and note the pattern before moving on.
What grammar skills JLPT N3 tests
JLPT grammar questions test whether you can pick the one form that correctly completes a sentence, out of several that often look similar — at this level that means a wider range of forms, including many that express nuance or cause and effect. That means recognizing sentence patterns, matching verb and adjective forms correctly, and understanding what each particle or ending actually signals in context.
