Pattern

Used to talk about the time, arrangements, or tasks for doing something. The verb before 時間／約束／用事 is in dictionary form.

Place the action in dictionary form before 時間 (time), 約束 (promise/arrangement), or 用事 (task/errand).

今日は本を読む時間がありません。

きょうはほんをよむじかんがありません。

I don't have time to read a book today.

週末に友だちと会う約束があります。

しゅうまつにともだちとあうやくそくがあります。

I have a plan to meet a friend on the weekend.

午後は銀行へ行く用事があります。

ごごはぎんこうへいくようじがあります。

I have something to do at the bank in the afternoon.

来週は東京に行く約束があります。

らいしゅうはとうきょうにいくやくそくがあります。

I have an arrangement to go to Tokyo next week.

朝ごはんを作る時間がありませんでした。

あさごはんをつくるじかんがありませんでした。

I didn't have time to make breakfast.
