Pattern

Used when something happens during a certain occasion or event. The occasion is followed by で.

Place the event or occasion before で, then describe the action that happened during it.

Occasion + で + Action

パーティーで友だちと話しました。

ぱーてぃーでともだちとはなしました。

I talked with friends at the party.

卒業式で先生がスピーチをしました。

そつぎょうしきでせんせいがすぴーちをしました。

The teacher gave a speech at the graduation ceremony.

試合でけがをしました。

しあいでけがをしました。

I got injured during the match.
