Pattern

The particle で marks the place where an action takes place. It follows the noun that indicates the location of the activity.

Use when describing where something happens. The place noun comes before で, followed by the action.

Place noun + で + action verb

図書館で本を読みます。

としょかんでほんをよみます。

I read books at the library.

公園で友だちと話しました。

こうえんでともだちとはなしました。

I talked with a friend at the park.

駅で切符を買いました。

えきできっぷをかいました。

I bought a ticket at the station.
