Pattern

The particle で shows the tool, language, or method used to perform an action.

Use で after a noun to indicate what you use or the way you do something.

Noun + で + Verb

フォークでケーキを食べます。

フォークでケーキをたべます。

I eat cake with a fork.

英語で手紙を書きます。

えいごでてがみをかきます。

I write a letter in English.

スマホで写真を撮ります。

スマホでしゃしんをとります。

I take photos with my smartphone.
