Explanation
Indicates the purpose of movement. Before に, a word expressing an intentional action or activity is used. After に, it is usually followed by a verb of motion such as 行きます, 来ます, 帰ります, or 戻ります. Often used for everyday, routine purposes.

Use when describing the destination or goal of a movement that is linked to an intentional activity.
Formation
Attach に to a noun or the dictionary form of a verb before verbs of motion.
Examples
母は買い物に行きました。
はははかいものにいきました。My mother went shopping.
友達を迎えに駅まで行きます。
ともだちをむかえにえきまでいきます。I will go to the station to pick up my friend.
