Explanation
Indicates doing the same action repeatedly or continuously, without doing anything else. Often carries a critical tone.
Usage
Used to point out that someone keeps doing something to excess, neglecting other actions or responsibilities.
Formation
Attach ばかりいる to the te-form of a verb.
Examples
弟は休みの日にゲームをしてばかりいる。
おとうとはやすみのひにげーむをしてばかりいる。My younger brother does nothing but play games on his days off.
子どもたちは外で遊んでばかりいて、宿題を全然しない。
こどもたちはそとであそんでばかりいて、しゅくだいをぜんぜんしない。The children just play outside all the time and never do their homework.
会議中にスマホを見てばかりいるのはやめなさい。
