Pattern

Indicates doing the same action repeatedly or continuously, without doing anything else. Often carries a critical tone.

Used to point out that someone keeps doing something to excess, neglecting other actions or responsibilities.

Attach ばかりいる to the te-form of a verb.

弟は休みの日にゲームをしてばかりいる。

おとうとはやすみのひにげーむをしてばかりいる。

My younger brother does nothing but play games on his days off.

子どもたちは外で遊んでばかりいて、宿題を全然しない。

こどもたちはそとであそんでばかりいて、しゅくだいをぜんぜんしない。

The children just play outside all the time and never do their homework.

会議中にスマホを見てばかりいるのはやめなさい。

かいぎちゅうにすまほをみてばかりいるのはやめなさい。

Stop looking at your phone all the time during the meeting.
