Pattern

Used to strongly invite or encourage others to take action together. Equivalent to 'shall we...' or 'why don't we...'.

Formal and often used in public speeches or persuasive language. Not commonly used in daily conversation.

Attach to the volitional form (よう形) of verbs.

みんなで協力してこの問題を解決しようではないか。

みんなできょうりょくしてこのもんだいをかいけつしようではないか。

Let’s all work together to solve this problem.
