〜として〜ない

Pattern

Strongly denies that something has happened even once or to the slightest extent. Emphasizes 'not even one'.

Often used with counters like 一度, 一人, 一回, etc., to say that something did not happen at all — not even once or not even one person.

Attach to a noun or a noun + counter + として + negative verb.

彼の案に賛成した者は一人としていなかった。

かれのあんにさんせいしたものはいちにんとしていなかった。

Not even a single person agreed with his proposal.

試験で一問として正解できなかった。

しけんでいちもんとしてせいかいできなかった。

I couldn’t answer even one question correctly on the exam.

今まで一度として練習を休んだことがない。

いままでいちどとしてれんしゅうをやすんだことがない。

Not even once have I skipped practice until now.
